The State of Mississippi offers two types of concealed carry permits, Regular and Enhanced. Having an Enhanced permit, also called an "Instructor Certified" permit, increases the number of places where a concealed permit holder can legally carry. Topics covered include conflict avoidance, situational awareness, firearms safety, the legal aspects of concealed carry, and much more, This class contains both classroom and live-fire portions. Upon successful completion of this eight-hour class, students will receive a certificate that allows them to apply for the Mississippi Enhanced Carry Permit.

Guns With Grady also offers small group or one-on-one shooting lessons to anyone who feels they need a refresher course on the safe handling and proper use of firearms. This class is designed for people who need one-on-one instruction in loading a magazine, proper shooting stances, proper grip, etc., or for people who just need to go shoot their firearm to become more familiar with its operation. This class is not limited to pistols or revolvers. If you need a refresher lesson on the safe operation of your AR-15s, deer rifles, and shotguns, give Guns With Grady a call.

Often, students will show up to a class with a brand new handgun they just purchased, but have never fired. When they get to the range portion of the class, they sometimes decide they don't like the handgun they have purchased, and wish they had purchased something different. For this reason, Guns With Grady offers this option. I have several smaller concealed carry firearms in different calibers for the try-before-you-buy range class.  I will bring these to the range and let you try each one. Please don't purchase a firearm before you shoot different ones and discover which ones are right for you.

In Mississippi, a hunter ages 16-65 must purchase a hunting license. Persons born after January 1, 1972, must complete a hunter education course prior to purchasing a hunting license. In addition, hunters between the ages of 12-15 must have a hunter education card with them when hunting alone. This class is offered once per year, usually in late summer or early fall, prior to the start of hunting season. Topics include firearms safety, hunting etiquette, tree-stand safety, and much more. The State of Florida issues concealed carry permits to both For  Florida residents and non-residents. Upon successful completion of this class, students will receive a certificate that is valid as proof that they have received firearms training. This training, which includes Florida laws and guidelines concerning concealed carry, a live-fire component, and much more, qualifies a person to apply for the Florida resident or non-resident concealed carry permit.
